I know that I’ve spoken of eating healthy and maintaining a healthy lifestyle in another one of my posts, but I thought that I would bring it up again as it’s really important. Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been making sure that I actually eat the recommended amount (or more) of fruits and vegetables everyday. So here is the deal with me. I LOVE to eat and I don’t necessarily like to eat the right stuff so the ONLY way that I can get myself to intake my fruits and vegetables is by making smoothies. That way I can just chug it and be done! ๐
I drink 2 smoothies a day and eat an actual meal during the evening. This plan may not work for everyone because you may still end up hungry. Some days I may snack in between but most of the time I can get away with just the smoothies. They have a ton of ingredients in them and I know that I’m still getting the nutrients because I’m not juicing but instead, I’m just blending. I put the following in my smoothie: organic kale, organic baby spinach, organic celery, pear (sometimes an Asian pear when they are in season), organic Fugi apple, organic banana, organic Hass avacado, and fresh lemon juice. This is basically a recipe that I got from another blog that I follow and I added my own twist to it. Since it’s packed with so many ingredients, it keeps me pretty full.
I’ve also been working out more. I used to walk/jog a couple of miles a day with my dog and once it got cold, I got lazy. I decided that it would be easier to work out at home, that way I can’t come up with any excuses. I started by watching a Denise Austin YouTube workout. I went and purchased a yoga mat and some light weights and that’s all I use.
I think that all of these things are essential to my overall health as well as my reproductive health. I still take my vitamins and I also take a probiotic that I order from Amazon. Now…if I could just get my husband on board. He’s doing better with his eating but of course it will take some work. I didn’t make this a “new years resolution” this was just something that I decided to do. I think I have a better chance of sticking to it if I don’t label it as a “resolution” but that’s just me and my philosophies. ๐
As far as trying to get pregnant, we’re still trying and enjoying ourselves during the process. We really have to think God for that. Many times when couples have been trying to become pregnant for awhile, they start to make sex a task and then they no longer enjoy it. I can honestly say that hasn’t happened to us and we really thank God for that. We still enjoy each other and we refuse to allow trying to conceive to get in the way of us enjoying ourselves.
Donโt you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,ย 20ย for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
