I forgot to mention in my last couple of posts that I decided to purchase an Ovacue Fertility Monitor to more precisely pinpoint my ovulation. I’ve used the test strips before, I’ve used the clearblue monitor with the smiley faces, and probably everything else on the market. While all of these tests work okay and kind of gave me an idea of when I might be ovulating, I never felt very certain about knowing exactly when I ovulate. I will also add that I made sure to check my BBT daily in addition to using these test strips but I still wasn’t confident. Part of the reason is that I drink tons of water so my urine was always extremely diluted and I also wake up multiple times throughout the night to use the restroom so I was never sure how accurate my BBT was.
I already use FertileAid products and my husband uses a number of Fairhaven products for men so I already knew about the Ovacue Monitor but the price was a little steep so I never put much thought into it. Well, once you calculate how much you’ve spent on the cheap tests, you realize that you might as well just invest in something more accurate (at least that was my way of thinking) so I went ahead and purchased it. So far it has done a great job at pinpointing my ovulation. I will say that it can be a little cumbersome to have to take both oral and vaginal readings daily but the accuracy that I get from it is worth the inconvenience.
It seems like I may ovulate a little earlier in my cycle than I once thought so that was good to know. I figure with my husband’s sperm count issue, it’s really important for us to be as accurate as possible with our timing. We’ll see how it goes! Hopefully I’ll have some good news for you guys sooner than later! 🙂
